Yesterday, for Michigan Horror Movies for Halloween, we covered the original The Evil Dead, made by Sam Raimi, and starring Bruce Campbell. The camp, the gore, the fun, the scary...that movie had it all. How do you even remake it?

With one of the best new versions ever. Super gory, more serious, surprising character changes...so much blood...Evil Dead, released in 2013, set a new standard for remakes.

I will warn you now, in case you haven't seen it already. It's hard to watch at times, the gore and violence is pretty brutal. Without spoiling any of the amazing scenes, just know, there were tanker trucks of blood used to make this movie.

Yes, TANKER TRUCKS OF BLOOD!

Fede Alvarez did a great job with this movie, and there are some really cool references to the original, including the Oldsmobile that Sam Raimi sticks in every movie he does. Even Bruce Campbell shows up in a scene at the end.

Harkening back to the original, the Michigan students go out of town to help Mia recover from her drug addiction, and then the s*** begins.

Probably one of the best remakes/reboots ever made. Enjoy!
