Portage Winterblast Half Marathon and 5K

The Third Annual Winter Blast Half Marathon and 5K will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015!

ABOUT THE RACE:

The USAT&F certified half marathon and 5K courses highlight the Portage Trail Way System and include a mix of mostly flat paved bike trail and roads. The half marathon serves as an RRCA State Championship Series event and NEW this year, both the half marathon and the 5K participate in the KAR Club Championship and the half marathon participates in the SWMI RACERS Long Distance Race Series. All running events start and end at Portage Central High School, 8135 South Westnedge Ave., Portage, MI 49002 on Sunday, March 1, 2015. 5K starts at 8 a.m. and the half marathon starts at 8:10 a.m. The half marathon will close registration once it attains its cap of 1,500. Cutoff time to be included in half marathon results is 3 hours 45 minutes. Roads will be re-opened at noon.

AWARDS:

Awards to first place overall open, masters, grand masters, senior masters and five year age division awards three deep in both the half marathon and 5K. Finisher medals to all half marathoners finishing within the time limit. All proceeds will support the Portage Winter Blast Half Marathon and 5K and the KAR.

REGISTRATION & PACKET PICK UP:

Registration for the half marathon and 5k is available at the sponsor Expo and Packet pickup Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at Portage Central High School (Commons area) from 2 to 5 p.m. Registration for the 5K only is available at Portage Central High School (Commons Area) from 6:30 to 7:30am on Sunday, March 1, 2015.  There will be no late registration for the half marathon Sunday, March 1, 2015.

Sponsor expo, packet pick-up and registration will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at Portage Central High School in the Commons area. Race day registration for the 5K only and half marathon and 5K packet pick-up will be Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Portage Central High School from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Race-day registration for the half marathon will not be available.
