My friend Nicole came to town and we got to explore Kalamazoo!

My very dear friend Nicole from my hometown came to visit me this weekend and there wasn't a dull moment.  Friday night we saw "San Andreas" at Kalamazoo 10 and started preparing for the end of the world.

Saturday, I dressed up as Taylor Swift (tried my best) and walked through downtown Kalamazoo singing and dancing to "Shake it Off" and every popular Prince song.  My boss Dana Marshall has an awesome Prince guitar and rocked it.  Kaysie dressed up as Katy Perry and made an awesome top made of cupcakes, like the one Katy wears in the video for "California Gurls."  I felt a little under dressed, but it was so much fun!

I was almost attacked by clowns...

On Saturday night, we decided to go to Greekfest downtown.  Parking wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and we got right in.  In order to buy a beer, you had to buy tickets.  1 ticket=$1.  It was brilliant because we never waited longer than a minute or two for a beer and the place was PACKED!

Theory of a Deadman were the headliners for Greekfest and Ramone of WRKR The Rocker introduced them on stage.  Everyone there to watch TODM was very welcoming to me even though I work for WKFR.  Of course, I made sure everyone knew that, yes, I work for WKFR and I love it, but I am a rocker at heart.

After we stayed to watch TODM, Nicole and I walked over to Sky Deck.  That was my first time to the Entertainment District and I would give it a 9 out of 10.  I didn't like that you have to go through different bars, and apartments to get to the top.  Once you get up there, you forget about the trip.  It was beautiful!

I'm so glad I got out and experienced more of what Kalamazoo has to offer.  Nicole approves too :)
