The North American International Auto Show is one of the biggest draws to the city of Detroit every year. But organizers of the monumental event are discussing plans to move it from its annual time frame of January to a warmer season in October starting as early as 2020 according to WDIV Local 4 Detroit.

Max Muncey, who is a spokesperson for the North American International Auto Show says although the topic of moving dates has been discussed nothing has been finalized at this time. One of the benefits of moving the show to October is it would allow for outdoor displays and driving courses that can't be pulled off in the Winter, especially in Michigan. In addition, it would distance the show from winter holidays and the CES gadget show that takes place just before the Auto Show.

On top of Porsche, Jaguar-Land Rover and Mazda all pulling out of the Auto Show in Detroit the past few years, this was the last year to see any vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, as they will be dropping out next year. The 2019 NAIAS is still scheduled for Jan. 14 through the 27th.
