Detroit bike company 'Detroit Bikes' as made a commitment to local students. According to the Detroit Free Press...

Detroit Bikes announced this week that it will give one bike to each 2018 valedictorian from schools in the Detroit Public Schools Community

The idea of gifting star students with a new bike came from the companies founder and owner's Mother. Zakary Pashak told the press that his Mother came up with the idea as a way to honor students and thought it was a nice thing to do. Zakary went on to say...

“In general, I’m a new parent so I’m starting to think about schools. I started to think of what I could do with my company to contribute to the conversation about schools in Detroit and reward those achieving academic excellence."

Detroit Bikes was founded in 2011 and is proud to say that they are Detroit's only bike manufacture. In fact 100% of their bike frames are made right in the Motor City.

Now any student that succeeded in their students can hit the road!

Any valedictorian, or student with the highest grade-point average in their class, should  contact Detroit Bikes at 313-502-5883.

Cheers to a great Michigan Company! And of course I am jealous of of their brains and new ride!
