Broncos in Top 25 on Associated Press Poll for the First Time

After cracking the top 25 in the USA Today-Amway Coaches Poll last week, the Western Michigan Broncos make another poll for the first time in school history.

The Broncos are now 6-0 after Saturday's 45-30 homecoming victory over the Northern Illinois Huskies. It was the first game after fourth-year head coach PJ Fleck's squad was placed in the 25^th spot in the USA Today-Amway Coaches Poll, the first time Western Michigan has been ranked in school history.

After this weekend's games, the Broncos earned the 24^th spot in this week's Associated Press poll, which is another first in school history. While the USA Today-Amway poll is voted on by coaches, the Associated Press poll is voted on by journalists and writers nationwide.

The Broncos are on the road this Saturday as they take on the Akron Zips at 3:30pm. It will be another tough challenge for Western, as Akron sits at 4-2 on the season and are undefeated in Mid-American Conference play. The Broncos return home on October 22nd, when they host their interstate rival Eastern Michigan at Waldo Stadium.
