The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had kept the world guessing about her name until now.

Britain's newborn princess has been named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.  The couple had kept everyone guessing names until the grandparents got a chance to visit Kensington Palace on Sunday to meet their granddaughter.  Bookmakers had taken bets on the name, and Charlotte was the favorite choice, alongside Alice and Victoria.

The princess is the 2nd child of Prince William and his wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge. According to royal officials, she will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.  I keep thinking, "How cool would it be to be referred to as Her Royal Highness Princess Tess of Tessland?!'"

"Charlotte, the feminine form of Charles, appears to be a nod to the newborn's grandfather, Prince Charles. The middle names honor Queen Elizabeth II, the infant's 89-year-old great-grandmother, and the late Princess Diana, William's mother." - London AP
