Birthday Brawl Involving Guns In Kalamazoo Sunday Evening

Two suspects are in custody after in a brawl broke out during a birthday party in Kalamazoo and more individuals are being sought.

WWMT reports that the incident happened in the 700 block of North Pitcher Street just after 6:00 pm Sunday. Officers arrived on scene after receiving reports of multiple subjects in possession of handguns during that dispute. A large group dispersed as police approached the scene. One man was arrested who was trying to run away. A weapon was also located. A second man was arrested at a nearby residence. Two handguns were recovered there.

No shots were fired during the fight. One female apparently suffered minor injuries during an altercation, but did not need medical attention. Police are still searching for additional suspects as witnesses said other individuals were present with firearms prior to police response.
