Bank Robbery Suspects Escape In Kalamazoo Tuesday
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that they were called around 5pm Tuesday to the 3300 block of Gull Rd on reports of a robbery; investigation shows that two men entered the bank, handed the teller a note demanding money, and then left with an unknown amount of cash. No one was hurt, and it’s not known if any weapons were involved.
Fountain of the Pioneers To Be Removed After Kalamazoo Vote
The Kalamazoo City Commission was in session for hours, and finally voted after 1am Tuesday, to remove the Fountain of the Pioneers amid complaints over its alleged racist iconography. After the 5-1 vote, the Fountain of the Pioneers will be removed sometime this year. A new location for the statue has not yet been found.
