Another Mattawan Mystery

At midnight last night many Mattawan residents woke up to...the loud sound of the tornado siren. FYI, it was a beautiful, clear, and mild night.

I wish I could say that's the first time it happened. It happens fairly frequently in the middle of the night, early morning, late afternoon...  Sometimes, it'll blow at exactly noon — like a noon whistle. Last night, it was midnight on the dot.

Why is this happening?  Does anyone know?

Is Mattawan not concerned with siren fatigue? It's like the boy who cried wolf. When the siren sounds for an actual emergency everyone will block it out.
