This 4th of July weekend is going to be hot, so keep your dog inside or walk on the grass if this happens...

One simple trick for keeping your pet’s paws safe is currently going viral after it was posted on Facebook by Moon Valley Canine Training in Sonoma, California.

It says to feel the pavement with the back of your hand, and if you can't leave it there for five seconds, your dog should stay inside, walk them on the grass or wait until the sun goes down. Because if it's too hot for the back of your hand, it will burn the pads on their paws.

You could also get little boots for them, but most dogs hate wearing them.  I tried them on Stella, but she looks like a Giraffe trying to walk around.  She plops down and bites them off anyway.

Speaking of things dogs hate, you also might want to leave them at home for the 4th of July, since fireworks tend to freak them out.
