One thing I'm looking forward to this spring is getting back into the Detroit Zoo. One of my all-time favorite places to go to, now home to the largest penguin facility in the world, the Polk Penguin Conservation Center. The Detroit Zoo has changed so much over the years and that really shows with this old commercial I found on YouTube.

It features animals getting ready for the Detroit Zoo to open accompanied by funny voices for each animal. I remember it vaguely as a kid but re-discovering and watching it definitely brought back some memories. It originally aired in the early and late 80's.

Watching this video makes me appreciate the technology we have today. Even the shot at the end where it zooms out makes it look so empty, whereas now there's so much beauty and renovation they've added. The zoo is better than ever now and you can get tickets at Detroitzoo.org.  Hope to see you there!
