JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A young driver got her first taste of the law Sunday.

Za'Dariyah Mishaw was cruising through the parking lot of her condominium complex, enjoying her convertible and the warm Florida sunshine when she saw blue lights approaching from the rear. Officers were in the area for a criminal investigation, saw the girl and her family and tried to lighten the situation.

The young driver stopped and appears to have been cooperative.

It is unclear if 2-year-old Za'Dariyah was speeding or failed to use her turn signal, but she was ticketed for a traffic related infraction. Her uncle Keyth Mishaw said, "Everyone always has bad things to say about the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, well, I want to say BIG PROPS to these officers for making a memorable moment for my family." Clearly her uncle agrees with the citation. "It was a fun moment, brightened up the whole day." Keyth said the officers made a great impression on the little girl.

This was Za'Dariyah's first time in her new car, according to Keyth and she was ticketed. Now, she keeps telling her mom that she wants to pay for her $4 ticket.

Patrol officer Christian Velasco, who gave Za'Dariyah the ticket, said "she was going pretty fast. It took me a while to catch up to her, but we did, and she was cited."

Velasco said when he is out on calls, he tries to interact with members of the community as much as possible.
